Possible Fungus or slime mold. 1/32 inch (estimated). mid 40 degrees F. in mixed woodland, growing on underside of damp fallen bark. "Cap" (possibly spore case) is slightly elongated, possibly slightly faceted; and some are bursting at top. Stalk is different texture, more gelatinous-looking and color is different, more golden. After a night of rain the colors changed slightly. I trimmed the photos and enhanced the saturation. My camera is not good for these tiny things.

On oak.

Extremely light, texture of styrofoam. When you drop a little piece it takes a long time to fall because it is very light compared to the size.

Spores perfectly round, 7.5 to 8.5 microns.

Maybe not myxo? On exterior of wet partially decayed log, likely Alnus rhombifolia. Spores are very large, 28-35 micrometers with some as large as 60. Finely warted with large ridged reticulations typically mostly forming a pentagonal mesh

This specimen has unexpected capillitium which has faint spirals and strange rounded tips with short spinules protruding from the ends. The peridium is smooth, and so I don't think it's Hemitrichia minor var. pardina. But it does have patches of brown/purple colour on the top around which the peridium dehisces.
