Mictopsichia hubneriana - Mariposa-Mictopsichia (Stoll, 1787)

Lepidoptera: Apoditrysia: Tortricoidea: Tortricidae: Tortricinae: Nova Tribo 3

Mictopsichia é um gênero de mariposas da ordem Lepidoptera, subdivisão Apoditrysia, superfamília Tortricoidea, família Tortricidae, subfamília Tortricinae e de uma nova tribo que desconheço o nome onde só está presente o gênero Mictopsichia.

Algumas entidades as colocam dentro da subfamília Chlidanotinae como pode ser visto em fontes mais abaixo. Esta classificação está errada.

Encontrada em uma reserva natural aberta para visitantes com muita vegetação selvagem.

Essa mariposa aparenta ser rara e não irei sugerir uma envergadura alar acurada pois os adultos possuem grandes variações desta, com cerca de 2 - 3mm de diferença em envergadura. O sujeito retratado media cerca de 20mm em envergadura alar e não tenho como confirmar isto. Sinônimos dessa mariposa incluem Phalaena (Tortrix) hubneriana (Stoll, in Cramer, 1791) e Mictopsichia hubnerana (Hübner, [1825]). Até então, é sabido que são distribuídas na Bolívia, Brasil, Panamá (https://flic.kr/p/HDK9Hy) e Guiana. A espécie-tipo é Phalaena hubneriana (Stoll, 1787) e o atual nome científico desta mariposa parece ser uma homenagem ao Jacob Hübner.

Não consegui encontrar mais informações na literatura sobre esta mariposa. A mariposa possui antenas curtas com uma cabeça claramente visível e grandes olhos compostos. As antenas são laranja-amareladas. Em suas totalidades, as asas anteriores e posteriores são iridescentes, brilhosas e coloridas, apresentando tons de amarelo, laranja, marrom, vermelho, preto e, talvez, azul. Os padrões são complexos e difíceis de descrever.

Seu estado conhecido de distribuição no Brasil é Recife, Pernambuco; Caseara, Tocantins; Ceará, Itambé, Caucaia. Provavelmente, este estado de distribuição está incompleto.

of the two Desmognathus in range, D. conanti and D. monticola, I picked the latter based on the fact that I found in the water at the edge in some rocky ledges and cliffs, and the distinct transition of the darker color on the back to the lighter color on the belly

Two mushrooms growing on a section of Pecan (Carya illinoinensis) approximately 1.25” diameter. Under a planted Pecan tree.

Cap, Largest, ca 1” diameter; almost flat with depressed center; dull brown cap with radial dark scales; projecting hairs at margin.

Pore surface. White with pentagonal/hexagonal pores arranged radially; running very slightly down the stem.

Stipe. Central; ca 3-4mm wide; yellowish-brown with scales.
