Eastern Twig Snake (Thelotornis mossambicanus)Observer

Snake was observed after a party of scolding birds brought it to my attention. It had just bitten a Yellow-bellied Greenbul in the head and the bird was still fluttering it's wings. But it died very quickly. The snake tried to swallow the bird for 45 minutes but was not able to get its mouth around the shoulders. It abandoned the prey after about 45 minutes and left it hanging in the tree.
