What is this funny looking fella?

Not sure what is going on but this is the fourth birder that I know of who has had a phoebe perch on their binoculars or on their person at Commons Ford.

The recent floods in LA left a lot of fish stranded out of the water.

There is discussion as to whether this bird is a Gyrfalcon, A Peale's Peregrine Falcon, or perhaps a hybrid of the above.

For 45 min or more this Marten chased a Snowshoe Hare. The Hare seemed to be playing the Marten, easily outpacing it over deep fluffy snow.

Larger than a kestrel. About the size of a red tailed hawk. Pure white.

Folks at the Raptor ID Facebook Group have pointed to a Red Tailed Hawk. Adding new photos.

the tail came up as the noise below grew louder, it waited until the noise was right below.

the Joggers found out too late. It was hard not to see comical premeditation in the hawk's behavior.

So well camouflaged I wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't been alerted to its presence by two of my backyard security guards (blue jays).

Pure white! The last picture is the same individual on a different occasion

Poor thing has a broken wing. I wasn't confident I wouldn't hurt more it by handling it, so I left it there.

Pretty big for a woodhouse in what I have seen in the past. Not sure what else would be.
