A solo visit to search for the Cofaqui Giant-Skipper that Julie Appleget discovered here a few days ago. This was my third attempt to find this elusive butterfly and it too was unsuccessful -- but I did find several eggs that probably represent Cofaqui Giant-Skipper eggs. I walked five different trails, each back and forth, before returning to Jet. The weather at the start was sunny and 77 degrees ("feels like" 77), with a light breeze. I left at 1207 and drove to the western parking lot.

A quick bioblitz of a patch of green next to the palmetto expressway. Lots of cool native wetland plants and some pollinators although the sun was hiding behind the clouds a bit, lowering insect activity.

The name Asarum rosei is not in the database, and if Hexastylis is split from Asarum (which it is in iNaturalist), then this has no combination in Hexastylis. Precise location taken, but obscured due to extreme rarity.
