Description
Between 18:50 and 19:25 EDT, 10,000+ chimney swifts flew into the chimney on the NE corner of the Stevens Center, as seen from the 17th floor of the Nissen Bldg. The birds congregated in tightening swirls near the chimney and then flew inside in bursts at a rate of up to 20/sec. This went on for about 30 minutes. Last evening in a similar show, a peregrine falcon caught one. They begin to emerge around 07:30 am, but spread out over much more time.

This little guy found its way into our house. We released it and it flew away safely. It has long wings, a shorter tail, and a similar flight style to a swallow.
