At first I was upset to see a thorny woody plant had appeared near my house. Then I realized it was a young Osage orange tree. With the hundreds of apples that had fallen from the nearby tree, perhaps thousands, this is the first ever sprout I have noticed on the place. I am ecstatic.

First time I saw this tree near me. I saw some fruit on side of the road, pulled over, and sure enough it was Osage-orange. Collected a few - not sure what I’ll do with them. Maybe try a taste or try to germinate some seeds?
