@robert_taylor looks like WOL still treats Trithemis tropicana as a synonym of T. africana. Have you mentioned this to @dennispaulson?
Hopefully he will respond to this on your new project. Thank you for starting that. I was not getting any responses on the previous journal post.

Trithemis tropicana is listed as a synonym of T. africana at the World Odonata List. Perhaps you can take it up with them, since that is largely what iNaturalist is following for odonate taxonomy: https://www.pugetsound.edu/academics/academic-resources/slater-museum/biodiversity-resources/dragonflies/world-odonata-list2/
