Species re-grafted to genus. See comments. |
Hi @jdmore.
Any. Perhaps I did it during that period because I did not know the correct way to fill that box during the "creation" of species or because the genus was not created, I do not remember it.
OK, so I just re-grafted the species to Genus Cicindela. However, this genus includes several subgenera with species assigned to them, in addition to species assigned directly to the genus.
Should Cicindela nahuelbutae be assigned to one of the available subgenera, or just left attached directly to the genus?
I not sure. I was opening it based off a report in the forum by @whimbrelbirder .
Yes, it should be within the Plectographa subgenus, but I am not sure if it remains within it, considering that the author of the species initially described it within the genus Cylindera, not cicindela, due to the division of the genus made by Rivalier (Rev. Franc .Ent. 1954, 21: 249-268). So perhaps for now it is better to leave it within the genre without assigning a subgenre. But I leave it to you.
@patrich any reason you wanted this species attached at subfamily level and not at genus level?
