The Tigrosa genus was created in 2012 by Allen Brady (https://wsc.nmbe.ch/reference/11945) and was previously in Hogna. Many pictures online still show species of Tigrosa as Hogna, usually H. carolinensis, leading to many people to misidentify these spiders.
