Shouldn't all North American observations now be Circaea canadensis ?

Yes, it requires a lot of clean-up for sure! Many of them are computer vision errors. There are currently 397 observations that have an ID of Circaea lutetiana in North America that still Need ID. And there are 315 observations that are currently labeled as C. lutetiana in NA.

I've been trying to keep on top of Ontario, but will cast the net out a bit further as I go

https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/27562108 this user seems to have info on distinguishing C. lutetiana vs C. canadensis. It looks just like C. canadensis to me, but would probably be worth conferring with them.

Yea it's a big job to correct all of those. Winter project probably, with whiskey.

I went through and cleaned up hundreds of these a couple of years ago, but I guess a lot more have crept back in, in the meantime. I will try to do a stint of further clean-up, when I can.

Looks like this is the only holdout labeled as Circaea lutetiana: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/14186966

Though we are up from 397 to 416 observations that have an ID of Circaea lutetiana in North America that still Need ID, since so many were kicked back from Research Grade C. lutetiana to Needs ID Circaea.
