Hi @tonnager. When you upload an observation, the best practice is to add an ID of your own. Even if you don't know the species, genus, etc., putting in an ID at the lowest level you're comfortable (even if this is kingdom or phylum) is very helpful. This is because many identifiers specifically search for certain taxa to ID. I will often search for 'molluscs' to ID, so then all observations of molluscs will show on my screen. However, this only works if an ID of molluscs actually exists on each observation. If someone uploads a photo of a snail, but leaves the ID box blank, it's not searchable. When you uploaded your observations, you left the ID blank. This makes them a lot harder to find and search for. By adding a general ID of 'plants', Tony made it easier for experts to find your observations and ID them for you.

Case in point is this observation: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/55634010. When you uploaded it on August 7th, you didn't add an ID of your own. It then sat being unidentified for 11 days because it was essentially non-searchable. On the 18th, someone found it and added a general ID of 'plants'. Within one hour, it got IDed to species!

Adding these general IDs helps move these observations towards getting a more specific ID. As such, I'm resolving this flag. Let me know if you have any questions.
