jules_f European Alder (Alnus glutinosa)

the taxon page shows 54222-Alnus-glutinosa being Inactive, however users still keep IDing their observation as this taxon (when they actually mean the active species 966205-Alnus-glutinosa)

seems fixed, no new observations incoming under the inactive taxon

I'm not able to get it to show up when I suggest an ID. How do you think it's happening? Maybe it's recent as 2 people flagged this in 5 minutes?

Can you share examples @jules_f?

I found one identification with three photos from about a year ago. I've added the correct (?) identification https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/41104250. Try doing the same.

In a case like that, the user may have opted out of taxon changes.

Actually here's 263 observations, many of them recent, so it's still happening post-swap.

Looks like the CV is still suggesting an inactive taxon.

Looks like a CV issue involving taxon splits and Seek. See this thread:

Thank you for looking into it. I wanted to include examples, but the field was too short

I think there are actually even more observations than 263, since some experts have added the correct ID to the inactive ones, such as https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/88824835, and https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/89794756
(I don't think these are included in the list). However these observations cannot reach RG level, despite having two A.glutinosa IDs. It's not a major problem, but it is a bit frustrating and takes time to re-ID

Thanks for notifying others. I hope they fix it soon, this species is quite common

'In a case like that, the user may have opted out of taxon changes..' - the observation was made and the the initial ID made after the taxon swap was done and the original taxon inactivated, so it can't be a case of the user opting out.

The CV issue from Seek was fixed, but people using outdated versions of the app may continue to upload observations with the inactive taxon.

I re-committed the swap. Almost all of the IDs of the inactive taxon were changed to the active Alnus glutinosa. Let's see if that solved the problem
