@loarie is there no way to force the capitalization of characters after the multiplication sign? Should I put in a feature request for something similar to a "force exact character formatting" button?
The x is optional: just remove it! (see the botanical code)
The x at the Notogenus level displays correctly.
But I would prefer to see this as the Hybrid formula and not by this spurious name. Hybrid names are tolerated by the code, but not encouraged. They are only really there because they are valid species names, until discovered as a hybrid, in which case they are converted to a hybrid name. Most taxonomists merely relegate them to a mention at the end of monographs.
It means that wild hybrids that dont have names, end up with a hybrid formula and then we have these odd few names: rather just use the hybrid formula for all of them.
