POWO changed back to Q. leucotrichophora based on my comments. If we regard Q. oblongata as a synonym of Q. lanata as Don did, it solves the problem
Thank you, I see no reason to not go ahead with the swap then. Would you say that practically all of the current Quercus oblongata observations on iNat are of *Q. leucotrichophora?
If so, I can swap them into Q. leucotrichophora before adding Q. oblongata as a synonym of Q. lanata instead.
Yes, I've checked the records currently under Q. oblongata and only a few of them are within the iNat range of Q. lanata.
Quercus oblongata is not an accepted taxon according to plants of the world online. It should be changed back to Quercus leucotrichophora.
