Shape: Multi-stemmed shrub
Leaf/Branch Arrangement: Opposite
Flower: White rounded cluster
Leaves: oval with pointed tip, 6-9 prominent veins per side that never reach leaf’s edge, 2-6 inches long and 1 ½-4 inches wide
Bark: twigs green-red/brown, older bark on lower stems green-brow/gray and rough
Fruit/Seed: round berry, ¼ inch diameter, white or with blueish flush, cluster stalks dull red
Height: 6-10 feet
Flowering: June - July
Habitat: upland deciduous and mixed forest, thickets, rocky slopes
