Description ²

• Shape: Vine
• Leaf/Branch Arrangement: Opposite
• Flower: Yellow tubular shaped
• Leaves: egg shaped with pointed tip, 2-5 inches long, 1 ½-3 inches wide, pair at tip of flowering branch join around the stem
• Bark: thin, gray, peeling
• Fruit/Seed: round-oval berry, 1/3-1/2 inch long, orange/red
• Height: 3-16 feet
• Flowering: June - July
• Habitat: woodland edges, forest clearings, thickets, stream banks, forested swamps
