• Shape: Multi-stemmed shrub
• Leaf/Branch Arrangement: Alternate
• Flower: White-pink bell shaped
• Leaves: oval-paddle-shaped, pointed tip, up to 2 inches long, finely serrated edges
• Bark: green - brown
• Fruit/Seed: similar to a blueberry but smaller
• Height: 2-20 inches
• Flowering: May - June
• Habitat: savannas, openings within conifer forests
• Other: Host for the State Special Concern listed Northern Blue Butterfly
