• Leaves: leathery, oval, rounded and slightly notched tip, tapered base, 1/3-3/4 inch long and less than 1/3 inch wide, edges rolled under
• Bark: green/red/brown, slightly hairy
• Fruit/Seed: round berry, dark red, 1/3 inch diameter
• Height: 2-10 inches
• Flowering: June
• Habitat: sphagnum bogs, exposed bedrock along Lake Superior
