Flower: cone, 1/16 inch long
Leaves: evergreen, scale-like, pointed tips,
Bark: grey/brown, thin and flattened vertical ridges that can loosen in flat strips
Fruit/Seed: egg-shaped cone, 1/3-1/2 inch long
Height: 40-80 feet
Flowering: April - May
Habitat: peat swamps, moist upland forest, rocky lakeshores, cliffs
