• Shape: Multi-stemmed shrub
• Leaf/Branch Arrangement: Alternate
• Flower: White bell shaped
• Leaves: leathery, elongated oval shaped, ¾-1 ½ inches long, ¼-1/2 inch wide, finely toothed
• Bark: brown, scaly, finely hairy, turns gray with fine exfoliating texture
• Height: 12-40 inches
• Flowering: April - June
• Habitat: bogs, peatlands, swampy streambanks in coniferous forests
