• Shape: Tree
• Leaf/Branch Arrangement: Alternate
• Flower: White elongated cluster
• Leaves: pointed oval, serrated, 2 ½-4 ½ inches long, 1-2 inches wide, may have orange “mustache” along mid-vein on underside
• Bark: black/brown, “burnt potato chip” texture on mature trees
• Fruit/Seed: purple/black cherry, 1/3 inch diameter
• Height: 50-100 feet
• Flowering: May - June
• Habitat: hardwood forest
