Summary ²

The Mountain Trogon (Trogon mexicanus) is a species of bird in the family Trogonidae. It breeds in Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico. In El Salvador, it is only present as a vagrant nowadays; its only local breeding population is in the Cordillera Nahuaterique which was ceded to Honduras in 1992 (see also Football War).
