Description: The Short-eared owl is a tawny colored owl with bold streaks on its body. Adult males and females are similarly marked.

Habitat: Open country. Winters in the San Juan Islands at American Camp.

Fun Facts: Short-eared Owls can be seen during the day flying low over the open prairie of American Camp hunting food.
