Lake Merritt Cuthona

Cuthona perca

Description 4

Light body with white flecking, cerata brown with light bands. In California this cosmopolitan nudibranch of invaded bays and fouling communities is only known from Lake Merritt in Oakland. Some have even taken to calling it the Lake Merritt Cuthona, even though it was described from elsewhere. Interestingly, no one knows where it originally came from!
