Leaves not more than 10 cm long, with elliptic leaflets which are broadlly rounded at the apex. Flowers 5 - 6 mm long; Calyx 4 - 5.5 mm long. Fruit with a network of raised veins.

D. andapensis is close to D. bathiei in its leaves and short inflorescences, but can be distinguished by its larger flowers and larger, differently shaped fruit.
