Leaves with 11 - 15 (-19) leaflets; Leaflets thin-textured, narrowly ovate to narrowly oblong, mostly tapering and subacute at the apex. Fruit 8.5 - 12 x 3.5 - 5 cm, usually 1-seeded, with the pericarp thickened, corky, strongly net-veined and fissured over the seed.
Up to 500 m.
The flower indicates an affinity with D. greveana, which can easily distinguished by its much smaller fruit (3-6.5 cm long) and its leaves with only 7-9 (-11) leaflets which are thicker in texture.
