Pinnae with 5 - 6 pairs of leaflets, the leaflets becoming larger towards the apex of the pinna.

M. kitrokala appers to be related to M. ikondensis; The latter differs in its shrubby rather than climbing habit, leaves with only 1 pair of pinnae and a shorter petiole (0.4 - 1.3 cm long), leaflets with basal, and flowers with cup-shaped calyces and pubescent ovaires.
