Adult characteristics 3

At maturity, the Coeur d'Alene Salamander can grow to a maximum length of 102mm (4in). A yellow dorsal stripe resembles that of the Long Toed Salamander, however the Coeur d'Alene salamander can be distinguished by the yellow patch on the throat, nasal-labial grooves and relatively short fourth toes on the hind legs.

Egg characteristics 3

Eggs are laid in grape-like clusters and attached to an object on land.

Larvae characteristics 3

The species exhibits direct development, meaning there is no larval stage; Hatchlings look like miniature adults.
