"Culms 20-36 cm long, rigid, 2-5 together. Spike 0.9 x 0.7 cm, globose; bracts 20 x 0.3 cm, foliar. Spikelets 3.5 x 1.5 mm, curved; glumes aristate, 7-nerved, with a toothed crest. Nut 1.5 x 0.6 mm, oblong, shortly cuspidate, dark brown."
