What Good Shell Photos Should Have - Shell Only 4
If you are photographing "mussel" type shells that do not have the animal in them, try and take photos of the following as seen in the first two photos above
- top of the shell
- underside of the Shell
If the shell is still attached, a photo of where it is attached also helps.
It is also helpful to have a measurement - even a finger in the photo will help.

If you are photographing "mussel" type shells and the shell is slightly open, try and get a shot of the animal as well as where the two shells join.
