Trametes versicolor – also known as Coriolus versicolor and Polyporus versicolor – is a common polypore mushroom found throughout the world. Meaning 'of several colours', versicolor reliably describes this mushroom found in different colors. By example, due to its resembling multiple colors in the tail of wild turkey, T. versicolor is commonly called turkey tail.

Cuerpos fructíferos en forma de orejas delgadas semicirculares, de 0,5-6,5 cm de longitud y 0,5-10 cm de ancho.La parte superior (píleo) es velutinosa, con zonaciones (anillos) de diferentes tonos de marrón, anaranjado y amarillo. El margen (orilla) es irregular.El relleno (contexto) es de color blanco, de 1-2 mm de ancho.El himenio (parte reproductiva) está formado por tubos de color crema a amarillo claro, presentándose hasta 6 poros por mm .El sabor y el olor recuerdan la herrumbre.
