Range description 6

This species is endemic to the United States. Its range is restricted to the Colorado Plateau and vicinity in southern Utah, western Colorado, northern Arizona, and northern New Mexico, at elevations of about 1,200 to 2,440 m (3,940 to 8,000 feet); introduced and established at Cove Palisades State Park, Jefferson County, Oregon (Stuart 1998, Stebbins 2003).
