The common wildflower Hieracium albiflorum is known by the names white hawkweed and white-flowered hawkweed.

Taxon biology 8

Hieracium albiflora is broadly distributed in North America from Alaska to California and eastward to Manitoba, South Dakota and Colorado. The classic habitat for occurrence of this herb is within dry forests at elevations from sea level to 2900 meters in elevation.

Also known as White hawkweed, this plant can achieve a height of 40 to 80 centimeters. The lower plant is densely hairy, with oblong to oblanceolate leaves being mostly basal. These coarsely hairy leaves are either entire or few toothed and have a length of eight to 15 centimeters. This white flowered species, unlike most hawkweeds, is a true native to North America.
