Bridelia micrantha, the Mitzeeri or the Coastal Golden-leaf, is a tree in the Phyllanthaceae family and is native to tropical and southern Africa as well as to the Island of Réunion in the Indian Ocean.

Description 4

Small to medium-sized tree, evergreen or deciduous. Young branchlets often with spines, occasionally blunt thorns are still present on older branches. Leaves elliptic to obovate, glossy dark green, paler below. Flowers unisexual on the same tree, very small, yellow-green, in axillary clusters. Fruit an ellipsoid berry, blackish when ripe, edible and sweet.
