Cerithidea decollata, common name the truncated mangrove snail, is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Potamididae.

In the Mlalazi Estuary they are abundant in the mangroves. They feed on algae on the surface of the wet mud when it is exposed. At times they move up the trunks of trees where they congregate in large numbers.

Globally, this species is found from East African coast and coasts of the west Indian Ocean.

Northeastern Africa: It is found on the coasts of Somalia

Eastern Africa: This species occurs in the eastern Africa coastal strip.
