Description ²

Body length up to 35 cm, body weight up to 1 kg. The southern hedgehog is similar to the European hedgehog , but his head and sides are dark brown (much darker than the throat and abdomen). Needles are chocolate brown, brown fur on the abdomen, on the chest - a wide white spot.
