Summary 2

A rare and little-studied animal. This is Wisconsin's smallest shrew species. Note the shorter snout and tail than the Sorex species. Tail is mostly naked, unlike the Northern Short-tailed Shrew (which it is also much smaller than).

Range 3

Southern quarter of the state.

Habitat 3

Not well-known, probably found in any habitat with dense cover.

Size 3

1.5-2.25", tail 0.5-0.75"
