Summary 2

Flying squirrels are common but rarely seen, as they are nocturnal. Identical to Southern Flying Squirrel in every way except that it is slightly larger and the fur on its belly has gray base, whereas the belly fur of Southern Flying Squirrel is all-white.

Northern third of the state.

Habitat 3

Coniferous forests.

Size 3

7-9", tail 4-7"
