Prunus is a genus of trees and shrubs, which includes the plums, cherries, peaches, nectarines, apricots and almonds.

  • Mexican Plum (Prunus Mexicana) usually found on woodland edges or in open fields
  • Creek Plum (Prunus rivularis) usually found along creeks, wooden canyons, bottom of valleys, and flooded plains

These often hybridize to form intermediate forms
