California Academy of Sciences, African Hall Gallery

African Hall, a central part of the new Tusher African Center, is both a dramatic recreation of exhibits beloved by generations of Academy visitors and a breath-taking new look at the biogeography and diversity of landscapes, plants, and animals of sub-Sahara Africa. The introduction to live animals adds even greater excitement and interpretive dimension to the exhibits. These live exhibits include African Penguins, Malawi Cichlids, White-throated Monitor Lizard, Jackson's Chameleons, Plated Lizards and Pancake Tortoises.
