The Ants of Massachusetts

A compilation of all the currently known species found in Massachusetts. This guide is inclusive to exotic species that can be found in the natural ecosystems of MA, although it ignores any species that are found in greenhouses or any other artificial, man-made ecosystems/habitats.
There are additional species found in Massachusetts that aren't available to utilize on iNaturalist, such as two undescribed species of Lasius, one undescribed species of Leptothorax (code AF-can), an undescribed temporary social parasitic species of Myrmecina, several undescribed species of Myrmica (code AF-scu and AF-smi), Nylanderia deceptrix, a social inquiline parasite of N. parvula, an undescribed inquiline social parasite of T. sessile, and an unidentified Strumigenys sp., all of which are not listed on iNaturalist. less ↑
