Sewell Spring Branch GEMS

This guide outlines the plant and wildlife gems identified along the Sewell Spring Branch and Severn Run. In the Gems of the Severn study released in 1988, over 500 “gems” which are various ecological, historical, scenic, and archeological features throughout the Severn River watershed, were identified. The Severn River Commission and MD DNR saw these features as “worthy of clear identification, protection, and appreciation.” By identifying and tracking these gems, we hope to raise awareness and educate about the diversity, complexity, and ecological importance of Severn River watershed. less ↑
