This guide provides information on the identification of phytoplankton and zooplankton in SW Florida's marine and freshwater ecosystems. The marine system investigated covers estuarine waters of Charlotte Harbor National Estuary, primarily the San Carlos Bay and Sanibel Island region to the Gulf of Mexico.
Freshwater plankton information is focused on the Caloosahatchee R., Lake Okeechobee, and the multiple lakes and streams of the region.
