Help the Field Museum's Urban Bumble Bee Project document the lives of Bumble Bees throughout the greater Chicago Region. This project welcomes observations of all bumble bees, as well as any insect look-alikes that might be a bumble bee. Uploading photos of bees on flowers can help us learn more about what flowers bumble bees pollinate.
For folks looking for a bigger challenge, we are especially looking for two rare bees, the American Bumble Bee (Bombus pensylvanicus) and the Rusty Patched Bumble Bee (Bombus affinis), along with two more common bees the Two-spotted Bumble Bee (Bombus bimaculatus) and the Brown-belted Bumble Bee (Bombus griseocollis).
