This is a field guide to all of the birds observed and/or banded by Marvelwood School students and faculty since 2001 to present, on Kent Land Trust's (KLT) Skiff Mountain South Preserve (SMSP) and Sharon Land Trust's (SLT) Skiff Mountain North Preserve (SMNP). Observations also encompass a three-mile radius from the preserve and/or Marvelwood School. The majority of observations come from from four of the school's banding stations on KLT & SLT property. BEAV Banding Station started during the summer of 2001 , SKIF Banding Station (started in 2012) and EVER Migration Banding Station started in 2013. RACK Banding Stations was in operation from 2003 until 2013. Three of the stations are part of the Institute for Bird Populations Monitoring Avian Productivity and Survivorship (MAPS) Program. This avian research program "is a continent-wide collaborative effort among public agencies, non-governmental groups, and individuals to assist the conservation of birds and their habitats through demographic monitoring (www.birdpop.org)."
This guide was prepared by Marvelwood School students Joshua Fusaro, Jacob Renkert, Tong Yu and JingJing Xu. Updates provided by current Marvelwood School students.
