The Asian stinging catfish or fossil cat, Heteropneustes fossilis, is a species of airsac catfish found in India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Myanmar. In Sri Lanka, this fish is called hunga by the Sinhala-speaking community; in India its called singhi. It is found in South India in the state of Kerala, and it is locally called as kadu (Malayalam:kadu ). It is also found in Assam and locally known as xingi. less ↑
