There are several hundred species of land plants growing in the Reserve so this guide represents only a small fraction of the total. You will notice two special species that are algae and fungus rather than plants. They are included here because you will find them on trees in the Reserve and they are very often noted and inquired about by visitors.
Check out the Nature section of PointLobos.org for more information on the Lace Lichen and the rust-colored Trentepohlia. If you are interested in a more complete view of plants found at Point Lobos the California Native Plant Society has produced a very thorough list of species also available on the website.
