Wildlife of Roxborough State Park

Roxborough State Park is located approximately twenty-five miles southwest of Denver in Douglas County. Over 105,000 people visit this day-use park each year. Local schools, scouting groups, and clubs make up a significant portion of park visitation. Families and groups of international visitors are also part of the visitor population.

Roxborough State Park became a state park in 1975, was designated a Colorado Natural Area in 1979, was designated as a National Natural Landmark in 1980, and as a National Archaeological District in 1983.
