Birds of Phillipines

The Black-chinned Fruit Dove (Ptilinopus leclancheri), also known as the Black-throated Fruit Dove or Leclancher's Dove, is a medium-sized (up to 27 cm long) bird of the Columbidae family. The male is a colorful bird with a green belly and wings, a brown tail, a whitish grey head and neck with a purple base, red iris and a small black patch under its yellow bill. The female has a green head, neck and breast.
The Black-chinned Fruit Dove is distributed in lowland forests of Taiwan and the Philippines, where it is fairly common. On Taiwan, it is very rare, known only from four specimens. less ↑

North India to Malaisya, Indochina, Philippines, Gr. and Lesser Sundas.
Behaviour:
Spotted Doves move around in pairs or small groups as they forage on the ground for grass seeds, grains, fallen fruits and seeds of other plants. They may however take insects occasionally and have been recorded feeding on winged termites. The flight is quick with regular beats and an occasional sharp flick of the wings. A display flight involves taking off at a steep angle with a loud clapping of the wing and then slowly gliding down with the tail spread out. less ↑

The Green Imperial Pigeon (Ducula aenea) is a large forest pigeon.
This is an arboreal dove, feeding on plant material in the tree canopy. Its flight is fast and direct, with the regular beats and an occasional sharp flick of the wings which are characteristic of pigeons in general. It builds a stick nest in a tree and lays a single white egg. The birds are not very gregarious, but will form small flocks. less ↑

The Zebra Dove (Geopelia striata) also known as Barred Ground Dove, is a bird of the dove family Columbidae, native to South-east Asia. They are small birds with a long tail. They are predominantly brownish-grey in color with black-and-white barring. They are known for their pleasant soft, staccato cooing calls.
The native range of the species extends from Southern Thailand, Tenasserim, Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore to the Indonesian islands of Sumatra and Java. It may also be native to Borneo, Bali, Lombok, and the Philippine islands. less ↑
